Default Tow mode

I have a 2005 Dodge Laramie 4x4. I have heard through friends that when they drive, they will engage the tow mode as the truck gets better milegae. Is there any truth to this.

Also want to purchase a hard tri fold tonneau locking cover. Any suggestions as to where I should look or just purchase from the dealership

Thanks

Tow mode - don't really see how this would save gas as it does away with overdrive (newer trucks actually changes shift points). Guess anything is possible, but has never worked for me on any vehicle.

Tri fold cover - be sure to check through our vendors and see what kind of deals they are offering. Always great vendors to deal with here.

Ya your rpm will generally increase atleast they do when i go in tow mode.... cant see how that increases gas mileage.

Don't see how it increases gas milage. Maybe they were on the road and thought the overdrive was making there gasmilage better? haha.

It makes your truck shift up and down at higher rpm's for ease of stopping and starting with a load. I don't see how it gives better gas milage.

I think that having the vehicle in tow mode would decrease fuel economy. If you want to save fuel then be gentle on the throttle and be sure to keep your vehicle properly maintained. Tire pressure is critical.
