Default Steering knuckle?

Has anyone ever had a steering knuckle come loose? I think thats what is making a clinking sound in my front right end, i can move the passenger side with my hand, can't move the driver side at all. Is this as easy fix? Any ideas on how expensive this would be? Truck has approx 53000 miles, never had this problem on any of my other trucks, I know I have the solid front axle because its a mega cab, which i believe also has all the 2500 parts...Thanks in advance for any help...

Keith

Sounds like a ball joint problem to me. Pretty common problem.

I was told the mega cab's don't have ball joints in the front, just like the 2500's and 3500's?

Someone lied to you. They ALL have ball joints. I'd kick that source of info straight to the curb.

Keith it could be the tie rod end on the passengers wheel or the joint on the end of the drag link where it hooks up to the pitman arm as well. Or it could be like Randy said with the ball joints. I would suggest jacking up the passengers front wheel and have someone move things around and check where the movement is, if it is moving enough for you to find it now it is just a matter of tracking it down.

Thanks Guys, it ended up being the ball joints on the lower and the control arms/ball joints up top, all had excessive play.....so they get replaced and the exhaust system just gets put on hold for awhile....its always something...
