Default I think I have an AC issue

My 2003 Dodge Rm 1500 may have an AC problem. The AC works but I think that it should be a little colder. I had a remote starter alarm installed and when the truck is remotely started the AC is no cold at all. As soon as I turn the truck off and manually start it, the AC gets cold. I did not think about the problem until the alarm was installed.

What could cause the AC to be cold but not as cold as one would like and also not be cold when the remote starter is used?

Th only reason I can think of is that perhaps the remote start isnt energizing a part of the HVAC needed to engage the compressor. A low refrigerant charge could explain why it's not as cold as you'd like.

I had the AC looked at and it checked out ok. Maybe it's just very hot outside and I need to give it time to get cold. I went ahead and changed the rotors and brake pads while it was at the shop. Thanks for your answer.
