Default Porting The Throtle Body

I was wondering if anyone has attempted this on their trucks? I havn't really looked at it too much but was wondering how the computer would compensate or would it need a good tune?

im using a ported tb on mine. the pcm has adapted to it plus im runnin a custom tune anyways which accounts to the bigger flow velocity

how much of a difference does porting do to in regards to the rest of the motor?

Bear in mind that the bigger throttle body will work better for making top end HP whereas the smaller size will lend itself to making more torque. I don't know that going much bigger would benefit you if you don't plan on changing cams.

I wouldnt think of a ported TB until you ATLEAST get headers. Even then, I dont think youd see noticeable gains until you added headers + cam at the minimum. Some people might say itll help, but like Remerson said, youll lose low end torque for minimum higher RPM hp, definitely not worth it IMO.

Id say your money and invest in headers. They are showing about 20hp improvement over stock manifolds, much better bang for the buck.

Definately. An engine is just a big air pump and getting rid of the point of most restriction is the name of the game. Factory manifolds are usually the best place to start.
