I think stacks are really cool! Go for it man! If you have a rolling cover that would be functional still which is always good.

I have to agree with everyone and say the second one is the best. The only thing about sutting a hole in the cover is it lets water in. I know I got my cover just for that reason, to keep water out. I do not know if you need it for that, just bringing it up.

If you are going to bring it up through the cover maybe make some rings out of stainless or something attached to the cover around the hole. That will act as a protecting ring so the cover does not melt or get damaged. Just a thought

Looking at these trucks I just realized that they all have dual exhaust. Are they running a different exhaust manifold and dual pipes all the way or just adding a "Y" pipe and running a section over to the driver side?

I would imagine they would get pretty freakin hot.

My Conquest...a turbo 4 cylinder with a full exhaust with a muffler.

The tailpipe on that car gets hot enough to melt the rubber bumper a little bit where it was touching it.

Turbos create a lot of heat, so, expect the stacks connected to said turbo to be very hot...lol
