Default Flowmaster 40 muffler swap

Hey all, quick question about a Flowmaster swap. I tried searching but couldn't find the answer, I guess it's common knowledge to all but myself, lol

I was wondering what offset and inlet/outlet sizes I need? The muffler I want is the Flowmaster 40 original and I just plan on swapping out the muffler, leaving everything else stock.

Thanks!

You would need the 2.5" in/out. The stock pipe is 2.5" for the exhaust.

Post up a sound clip when you get it in!

I watched Horsepower TV today and they were showing mufflers on it. I saw them test out Cherry Bomb mufflers. They make one called the Vortex or something, it is awesome! It has the most flow possible for a muffler! It makes more power than the Glasspack as well!!

I would say take a look at this muffler! It looks really good as well. It is black in color. The inside of it is really nice and unique! Take a look, it might change your mind!!

Thanks for the suggestion! I can't find any audio clips to see what they sound like on a Hemi though, seems like all that's on YouTube is full exhaust systems. Happen to know of any of the top of your head?

Edit: nevermind, found some, I'm noob at searching YouTube... listening now.

Edit2: Wow, that sounds good..... really, really good. I'm gonna have to go ahead and buy one of these. :P

I do not know any auido clips buddy sorry. While I was watching horespower TV they ad the muffler from Cherry Bomb running. They tested all of Cherry Bonbs mufflers on the dyno. The Vortex sounded really good!! IT was not as loud as the Glasspack (which is damn loud) though.

After I posted with you I took a look at the other companies. The next best thing is to go with a Gibson muffler. I have one on my truck (cat back exhaust) and I love the sound. I never looked at the muffler before but I finally did. The Gibson has as much flow as teh Cherry Bomb Vortex.

Noone really goes with these two brands but they are damn good!! They have great sound too since they are the best flowing mufflers

I think I've got my heart set on a CB Vortex now, lol, I watched a few vids on YouTube and it sounds a lot more aggressive than the FM40. Very, very intense. I really appreciate the suggestion.

On dual exit exhaust, its 3" in, dual 2.5" out. Im sure even with single exhaust, its probably the same, 3" in, single 2.5" out (or possibly 3"). This is for 09/10 years.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I picked up a Cherry Bomb Vortex 88109 today. 3" C-inlet, dual 2.5" outlets. Now I just need to find a good shop to do the install in Edmonton.
