Default Transmission Question

I just returned from a trip to Florida pulling my 24 foot fifth wheel trailer all over the state. I have a question about the transmission shifting or how the truck feels when it shifts. I have a Bully dog computer on board and had it set on "tow" along with my tow/haul selector on. When going up to speed from an entrance ramp on the interstate the tranny seems to stay in low gear for a long time and then jump to 3rd. I have only had this truck a few weeks so don't know much about how it is supposed to feel. When not towing in a normal mode the shifts seem crisp and quick. Truck has 35,000 miles and I know it should have the bands adjusted but I don't know if that will make a difference. Anyone out there care to tell me how your transmission makes the truck feel when pulling a load in the tow/ haul mode?
I don't have a warranty and I hate to take it to a dealer with something that might not be a problem. Thanks for any info

I pull a trailer ofter with my '06 Diesel and BullyDog programmer. I notice a long shift period while getting up to speed, but after that mine act's normal.

I have 112K miles on mine. Hoping for 112K more...if I can keep it on all 4 wheels.
