Default ATV in the bed... now I need something better in the rear.

2003 Ram 1500 Quad cab 2WD.

700lbs ATV in the bed is no problem however the rear end gets very soft and I kept on blinding oncoming traffic the other night. The ride is not scary but uncomfortable going down fire roads with loose gravel and a trailer i'd say.

I'm a complete noob to truck suspension so i'll need help here.

I have seen rear airbag kits. Seems easy to install, how does these things hold up in the winter with cold, salt and all?

Add an extra layer on the leaf springs?

Helper springs of some sort?

Thanks!

Both approaches will work.

The air bag systems are pretty robust and are more versatile vs. the helper springs. They aren't like the old air shocks sold years ago. The materials used for the bags is considerably different.

Thanks.

After looking up a few things and finding the right working for searches I found what I needed.

I'll be giving the Timbren kit a try. At 200$, it got good reviews and seems to be an easy install to.
