I am a dental hygienist, working at a fairly large practice. I am one of two hygienists and we have three dental assistants. I average around 10 patients a day and I am booked from now until August with NO openings until then.

I am enlisted in the United States Air Force, currently stationed at Hill AFB Utah..and I'm a personnelist. To explain it better i'm basically in charge of taking care of member's military records . Doesn't sound that exciting, I know. But when I go overseas I do mostly security forces jobs. And of course I cannot show you pictures lol

It sounds like you're deserving of an 'Armed Forces' badge

Default What do you guys do for a living?

As we are all very aware, these trucks are not cheap! At least those of us that bought ours brand new anyway, not sure what you guys are paying for the used Rams... Its also NOT cheap to keep these things filled with gas so I am assuming you guys have some decent jobs (or maybe your parents do).

Anyway,
I am an X-Ray Tech and I just bought my 2011 Ram 1500 less than 2 months ago. Before I finished school and got this job I could have NEVER afforded such a nice vehicle and I doubt I would have ever even thought about buying anything brand new. I spent the majority of my working life doing hard labor intensive work such as working in warehouses loading trucks. That hard work was 10X harder while going to school at the same time! Lets just say that the second I decided on my truck I felt that I deserved it and my girlfriend/fiance even said that out loud on the way home which was nice to hear!! lol I am expecting my first child at the end of August and she is the main reason I went ahead and got the truck. I would never have felt safe putting her in my old car and I needed something that would actually start up for me when I wanted it to instead of doing what it felt like and leaving me stranded at random times. (One day when I was in school, I actually got to leave early from my clinical. I went out to my car and it would not start to save my life! I had a guy try to jump it and everything! I messed with it for an hour and finally gave up and called someone to come get me. Well, when the time came around that I would have been leaving clinical anyway, my ride hadn't gotten there yet but my car decided to start right up on the first try! Go figure)

What about the rest of you guys? Some of you have brand new rams with $1000's in modifications done to them already!! What in the world do you guys do for a living??

well my Ram is not new by any means, but she was still pretty pricey. However at the ripe ole age of 24 years old I am retired from the military. HAHA, but no seriously I was medically retired in February 2010 for injuries sustained in combat. So I receive a nice pension every month and do odd mechanic jobs here and there along with being a part time paid on call firefighter. My fiance on the other hand is the assistant to the director of internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. So with our two incomes together we do pretty well for ourselves. And don't get me wrong, I could have afforded a brand new Ram and still could. And my fiance actually kind of judged me for not getting a new Ram. I just preferred to buy something and buy it outright and not have a payment each month. I guess I'm kind of a cheap skate LOL As opposed to her who leases vehicles so that she can have a brand new one every couple years (which in my opinion is the worst rip off I've ever seen and waste of money. but hey to each their own) LOL

Active Duty, United States Army, 91B1O-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic.

Big Blue is bought and paid for. Bought her used, barely a year old, for HALF what she costs new. I paid $21k out the door. I search for bargains, and I DO NOT like payments. I hate them so much I was willing to watch 21k fly out of my savings account. There is always another deployment.

I am in technical sales, which is nothing more than an ex tradesman selling the stuff i used to install. The money isn't that great right now but it will come, thus she is only getting inexpensive mods right now. Worst part is with my territory I will have this Ram miled out in roughly three years.
