Default Compressor electrical problem

Fan works. AC switch lites. Clutch does not activate. Bypassed the switch. Tapped into the power wire in the module containing the fuses and into a vacant space controlled by the light switch. Turn on the lights and the compressor starts. Does the module need replacing as was suggested. Any suggestions. Thanks

You need to check the a/c charge level, high and low pressure switches, wiring and relay.

Ditto what he said you need to check the pressure...first. Sorry to ask a question in this thread but does anyone know how ounces you should put in? and what happens if you don't put enough in?

29 ounces. If it's low you will have less than normal cooling and possibly rapid compressor cycling.
