Default here is my delema

ok so i have an '08 ram with the infinity system but no sub , my delelmea is this i can make a box that sits under the rear seat where make the top out of 1 inch mdf and the bottom out of fiberglas and have the truck reak of glass resin for a week and then i have to figure out how to attach the rca's( pacs makes one that plugs into the factory harness or I have to get one that slices of the front speaker wires. ) to the sub and the remote turn on . and have to figure out where to hide the sub, or I can spend $765 and get the kicker mopar one that has the amp built in and a 10 inch square kicker in a sub box built to fit under the drivers side rear seat. and they basicly tell you to how to plug and play everything . building the sub box is cheaper then buying the kicker on as I have the sub and amp but there is this thing in the back of my mind that is if i get the kicker one it will all look factory

Thats a tough one man ....the infinity system is great dont get me wrong but if you want ear melting sound its a pain to redo. i got lucky and the ram i bought only had the chincy 4 speaker system so i could build whatever.

That IS a tough one silver. I would make my own sub box, but that's cuz I like making things myself and while it can make things harder in some cases, you get what you want rather than settling. Now, if you want the 'factory look' then I'd go for the pre-built, but ONLY if you want it to look OEM.

well i don't mind building it, don't get me wrong and i like the sub i have, i like clean sound over loud, I'm 32 now and really I don't need 8 subs in my truck although it was fun in my fire bird when i had two 12's in the trunk and i'd play crystal method and any woman that sat in the passanger side would either jump out of the seat or get an evil smile because it would vibrate certain senitive parts of ther anademy lol

but yeah I'd don't know what the factory sub sounds like and my biggest thing with building it is hiding the amp as under the passanger seat is the jack and there really isn't space for it under the rear unless i move the sub to the passanger side and mount the amp to the box because i want a little storage for my booster cables and first aid kit.
right now I have the factory infinity speakers and the factory deck because it runs serius, 6 cd's , am, fm radio and now my ipod. and I have steering wheel controls that really I don't want to lose. in the future I may change the speakers ou for better ones but that is it.

the thing with the kicker one is i know kicker makes good stuff and that the box is designed to not get hit or hit the bottom of the seat.
