I totally agree--RELATIONSHIP RELATIONSHIP RELATIONSHIP----fighting with a dealership about a warranty item is akin to getting into a pissing match with a skunk!!!!! IMO

Good point Randy and Michael, a needed explanation of mods vs. warranty, and I agree, especially with the relationship you have with your service department. In rare cases, I have to split my business with two dealerships, yet when I call, I ask for a certain person by name. The dealership closest to me is a small, family owned business. The one I went to today is a much higher volume dealership, but, I have to say, you drive right in, get out, there is a service advisor ready to talk to you, and there are enough people working there that you almost feel like you have your own service advisor, all to yourself. Just wish I had thought about the doughnuts, I passed two bakeries on the way in this morning, but getting to know them and the techs definitely affects the level and quality of service you receive.

yup, being able to go for drinks with the service manager, and a couple of the techs is a great way to build a strong relationship with them. I've been on the road no where near my regular shop, and I've been able to call them up and have them talk me through a temporary repair until I can get it in to them... if that isn't service, I don't know what is.

No, not as long as you use the stock width and offset.

On one hand i agree with the raltionship statement, but... ive been using the same local shop for the last 10 years, routine maintence and everything else, and trust no one else to touch my trucks, they have saved my a$$ many times, have let me run a line of credit for high cost repairs and their hourly rate is far cheaper then any dealer where i live. Say what you want about small independent shops, but after 10 years its more then just a buisness relationship, its become a freindship. The point is im not gonna stop going there and start giving the dealer my hard earned bucks just because I decided to buy a new vehical, just doesnt feel right.
