Default Adding Tow Hooks

A buddy removed his tow hooks on his 08' 2500 Cummins to make room for his Westin Bull Bar. I got em free from him, and want to install them in the same location they were on his 2500 on my 06' 1500.

I was wondering if its do-able and what if any modifications are needed. Any and all info is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

If you got the brackets and bolts, just remove the front trim piece between the bumper and grille, remove the bumper, bolt the tow hooks in, re-install the bumper and you may have to do a little modding on the front plastic trim piece to fit it back in there.

Good deal, Thanks bud, I think I'm gonna attempt to install them tomorrow after work..

And the plastic piece will be replaced with a billet lower grille at some point..

Hate to be contrary, but that's not going to work. The frame ends and bumper mounting are different between the 1500 and 2500.

The big 2500 loop tow hooks mount into holes drilled into the side of the frame. 1500 tow hooks are part of a one piece bar that boxes in the front end of your frame. In fact the bar is sandwiched between the square frame ends and bumper.

Mounting will take you fabricating a bar. A year ago my grandfather and I set out to build tow hooks because the ones on the 1500 were, IMO, laughable compared to the 2500 tow hooks. Unfortunately I don't have the spects for the bar handy, but needless to say it was quite the undertaking.
