Default Check your parts before 'putting on the shelf for 4 years'!

what a rotten week. won't bore you with all the details, But had some downtime to work on the '97 today. I looked in the parts book, and seen the track bar is the same as what a '95 takes. Great! (I had one on the shelf) I thought!

Got the old one out with out too much 'convincing' Right away I could see there was a difference. Apparently, early '94's (up to 2-7-94) to be exact, used a track bar with a 5/8 ths taper stud. All others after that build date use 3/4 taper stud.
I bought a whole front end rebuild for the '95 almost 4 years ago.... and never got to check the parts.
I don't have any use for that bar, I would sell it for half price if anyone needs one. Moog DS1256 is small taper, Moog DS1413 large taper
Don't always assume the parts man behind the counter knows everything.

Got my new rubber today, will post pics later. I think you guys might enjoy... mmmmm love the smell of new rubber!

That sucks but being a back yard mechanic most of my life, it gave me a good chuckle because I've been there and done that.
