Default Another 4.7L towing question...

Hey guys here is a juvenile question for ya....If I have a 2007 Ram 1500 Q/C w/the 4.7L and 5 speed auto trans, 4x4, what mode should I use to tow with say a 25' boat or equal size camper? I notice my column shifter has 2 options when I push the tow/haul button and I'm a lil confused as to what to use and what speed to stay around to avoid burning up the trans. The main thing is that the 4.7 engine already kicks in the passing gear more often than a truck equipped with the larger v/8 so I don't want to put the truck under any unnecessary strain. Any help on the 4.7L towing options/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Frank.

Tow/Haul locks out fifth gear and gives you more aggressive shift points. The O/D off locks out fourth and fifth and the same shift points as Tow/Haul does.

I use Tow/Haul anytime I tow or haul heavy and only use O/D off if it is downshifting excessively or towing up and down alot of hills.

Another thing I like about Tow/Haul is it downshifts to help slow down the load.

Hope this helps.
