Default Help!!!

So my trucks been acting horrible ever since I towed a 30' travel trailer across 3 states, and I figured I'd go ahead and try to change the distributor cap and plugs and wires, as well as the rotor. Welllll, after 4 hours or so, that was done, but then I started up the truck, it backfires, and has NO power to the rpms. I'm assuming this is because my dumb @$$ decided to use a marker to mark the wire order on them, and it wiped off! So I guess the order of the wires on the cap are wrong.. Now, I know the firing order of the cap, but does anyone have a diagram or anything to show what # each cylinder is, from the front of the hood to the back? I figured it was 1-2 in the farthest back, and 3-4 the next row, 5-6, etc etc. Am I wrong?

From front of hood drivers side is 1-3-5-7 and passengers 2-4-6-8. Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 clockwise. On distributor No 1 is just before mounting screw on passengers side. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll have to try that tomorrow. No wonder my truck sounded so mad, I had it completely backwards! haha.

Welp, I put them the way they should be, still no luck.. The check engine light isn't on anymore though! I'm starting to thing I put the distributor cap on wrong, and the screw isn't lined up on one side, since that's the only thing left that couldve happened. Any ideas?

Distributor cap turned out to be on right, but I think I messed up the order again. I went ahead and bought new wires and plugs, and was in the process of replacing them, got the new plugs and wires put in fine on 1, 3, 5, and 7, but when I tried to pull off the wire for cylinder 2, the wire pulled completely out of the connector that connects to the spark plug. So now I'm stuck due to a lack of tools, with a rubber boot with no wire stuck on one of my cylinders. I think I'm gonna call a mechanic. Lol.

Crisis averted! She's runnin' like a beauty now. Turns out I had the cylinders backwards, i thought 1357 were on the passenger side. And they were counterclockwise too. I'm a dummy., Lol.

Does anyone know of an easier way to get to the dist cap? I can barely even see mine. I wanna change my plugs and wires but I am too freakin short to see where the wires are going behind the engine.
