Default tow haul

i know with tow haul on firmer shift point... but has anyone put it on to go all the way down the track i dont see how can be bad for motor. Also if you have you see any better results. i would test it but my truck in the mod process

I know that putting on the tow mode with the cylinder shut down system the engine will automatically kick all 8 cylinders in and give you a quicker start and the RPM ranges will be longer than normal because the tranny shift pressures will get higher which will allow for more power in each gear. It does not hurt the engine at all it is just another program that the computer runs.

One nice thing about using tow/haul when racing, it gives you an extra gear in the shift sequence....2nd prime! This should help your ET a bit.

Tow/haul shift sequence - 1, 2, 2P, 3(dir), 4(OD1).

I haven't ran mine at the track, but have tried both regular mode and tow/haul modes on an 'unofficial' 1/4 mile track (highway) using 'unofficial' timing (stop watch). I have noticed a consistent improvement (~.5sec) using tow/haul.

i run tow/haul...1st, 2nd, then 3rd...it doesn't touch 2p at all or tranny blows much sooner..

Interesting.....I wonder if that is a change up in the Gen4 trucks. I'm definitely getting a different shift after 2nd, and it's not direct (3rd). Since I run out of 'track' long before gears/rpms, I have not run WOT through all the gears. Next time I have a lot of road in front, I'll try to document the MPH and RPM at the time of shift to calculate the ratio. If it doesn't equate to 2P, then maybe I'll have to borrow a star scanner to see what it's doing.....if the star scanner gives that info real time.

As I indicated above, all results are 'unofficial'. I have not been to a real track, just used a deserted highway, with odometer measured 1/4 mile and a hand held stopwatch.
Reg - 15.3 @ 92mph (average of 3 runs)
T/H - 14.8 @ 95mph (average of 3 runs)
