Default A few issues?

Well its been slightley noticable for a little while (few weeks) never thought anything of either problem!

1. This has happened maybe 4-5 times...go to crank over the truck starter gets cranking...sounds strong just doesnt fire, this is after about 6 secs of cranking...usually takes a quick 2 second shot...well sometimes after cranking for a long time i let off and it fires, ok thats fine but this morning i let off nothing, cranked it again fired right up?? what gives? battery and starter are both good, got enough juice and the starte doesn't sound like its lagging

2. Second issue, not really an issue but this morning 10 degrees celsius out, noticed that it take some time to get up to temp in the morning, for about 15 min it gets up to about 3/4 to half, which is where the needle always sits, i am in stop and go traffic during warmup and the needle never seems to get to half ( around 700-800 RPM max? as soon as i got on to a stretch of highway and got on the gas and RPM up to 1500-2000 it gets up to the normal operating temp? i kno the difference is very minimal but whats going on??

simple issues not causing driveablity as of yet and happen periodically so any insite is appreciated!

1. The fuel pump check valve may be allowing fuel to drain back into the tank when the truck sits for an extended period. Try turning the key to the run position a couple of times before cranking the engine. If it fires quickly, you can bet it's the check valve.

2. A stuck open thermostat can cause this.

1. well that sounds like a likely possibility....getting close to the time my fuel pump may out and quit anyways, uncles truck did it at around the same mileage!!

2. ya i was thinking that too, but its sits lower when idling in traffic, almost no air flow over the motor, as soon as i get moving and air running over the motor it heats up a little more? would the temp not stay the same or drop once i get moving?

You're also increasing the load on the engine when you get moving, so I wouldn't expect to see a temp drop unless the engine was really hot.
