I will tell you right now that is just for one axle if you talked with a dealer. I ran the number with my dealer when I purchased my truck and we determined it would be cheaper for me to trade it in and purchase a new one.

It was about 2,700-3,000 for both axles from my dealer here.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a junkyard rear , if you can find one . Then you can sell yours and recoop some funds .

I don't think 4:10 gears are on option on 4x4's

around here it would be 225.00 per axle labor, and parts 300.00 per axle

you won't lose top end on 4.10's (or even 4.56's)...I would call around for a gear shop or buy the gears and have a gear shop install it...even with just a 2wd my first gear swap cost me less then $500. I changed my gears out to 4.10's and then back to 4.56's and for labor alone I paid $375 to put the 56's back on (since i aleady had the 56's)...so i would call an shop around..dealer is top dollar..
