I figured that since the fan was supposedly dead already I couldn't hurt it any mor ethan it was. Plus if I can fix it and save some money then I'm all for it.

I will report my efforts that will begin tonight with a new fan motor ($90) from Advance Auto. Not sure about cutting the shroud but know that its one pin on the axle and for bolts once the shroud is out (and not Turin-ed). Full assembly not available in the system for my 2003 4.7L.

thanks guys im having this same issue right now, i believe this is my problem but havent located the condensor fan, i will look in the morning. Thanks for the great help here!
