When I purchased my Chrysler, I got a great deal from Chrysler Contracts.

For instance a 100,000 mile "Maximum Care" 7 year warranty would cost you about $1200. A lifetime "Maximum Care" warranty would cost around $1600. Plan deductibles and cost based on your estimated annual mileage vary a bit but not significantly.

So save some money and do some online browsing for your warranty.

Below are a couple of sites to check out. I do not have any affiliation with either nor do I endorse either of them. But when I went looking for my Chrysler, I saved 1/2 the price the dealer was quoting for a comparable warranty. I ended up going with ChryslerContracts.

Maddog -

I am also considering the extended warranty now. I drive a lot, and had one on my 300M that I recently had to get rid of with 198k on the clock. So, in my case, they do tend to pay for themselves.

Now, help me for a second -

I see that the websites you posted www.chryslerfactoryplanscts.com and www.chryslerwarrantys.com are basically aftermarket warranties, right?

With these aftermarket warranties - do you still need to get the repairs performed at the dealer, or will the dealer not honor these and force you, instead, to get repairs done at like a Firestone, STS Automotive, etc?

Now, you mentioned you went with www.chryslercontracts.com - was your decision based largely on price or coverage or both?

I was leaning towards getting one right from the manufacturer (because my dealer wanted ridiculous prices), but I just want to make sure I'm not passing up a potentially good deal here. How do the prices generally compare on the aftermarket warranties compared with Chrysler's own extended plans?

Thanks in advance - sorry for the long post...

Rich,

I don't think those are "aftermarket" warranties that Maddog gave links to.

Here's one I know for certain is not. http://www.eservicecontracts.com/maximumcare.htm

Interesting - wasn't aware of that. Ok, I can definitely shop them all for best price then.

Thanks!

sty away from aftermarket warranties!! total scam, they look for any and every reason to put all the cost on the customer that purchased the plan. ive seen a lot of customers get burned by buying these "aftermarket warranties".they are all linked together by sister companies with different names.do urself a favor and purchase the "Chrylser Service Contract Maximum Care Plan.". u choose 50 or 100 deductible plan.theres even a 0 dollar deductible that is badass, but u pay more for the plan. the lower the deductible the higher the plan. i purchased this Max Care on My 07 R&T //Charger & 09 Ram Sport C.C.Both covered for life under powertrain and max care as long as i remain the owner. With navigation and mygig in both of them, add heated seats,back-up camera, park sensors, trans etc, the bill can add up if outside of basic warranty. a CSC(chrylser service contract) will repair ur truck with factory new or reman Mopar parts.ive seen A/M contracts use otherwise to save a dollar, even used parts(LKQ). a csc has approval on site when a/m u must call and wait for inspectors to come out and give there 2 cents to the a/m company. CSC come with rental coverage, even 1st day rental. i highly recommend only MFG service contracts for the vehicle driven. hope this helps.

btw,may want to ask if the dealer if they are still offering the 36 month no interest payments on the contracts still.i pay 43.10 a month for my charger as of now for another couple years, but i can still use the csc as long as the acct is in good standing

Brian - just to clarify -

Is http://www.eservicecontracts.com/maximumcare.htm basically an agency for Chrysler selling their service contracts? Can I comparison shop them against Chrysler direct for the same contract? Looks like the same product to me that both this company and Chrysler are offering...

Thanks in advance,
