I have a 09 ram 4x4 2" leveling kit. I would like to know if there is any running 35"
tires and if they rub. Sure looks like there is room. I have Mickeys 305/55/ 20 on it now.
Any help would be great thanks.
35s will rub on a leveled truck i would recommend 33s for a hassel free ride!

The Trail Grapplers and Xterrains are a fairly agressive tire so hwy use is going to be a little rough, what kind of open countrys are you looking at the m/t or a/t?

I am considering putting 285/70/17's on my 08 Ram and thinking about getting a set of Mickey ATZ's Anyone running these tires and would be able to give me an approximate life on the tire? It's my every day or I'd put something more aggressive. And if not the ATZ, any recommendations? Maybe Nitto Trail Grappler? Super Swamper SSR? I appreciate the advice, winters coming up here and the bald wranglers that came with the truck won't pull me through much of a 2 foot snow drift

The good thing with the MT/Rs is they aren't directional (even if the tread looks it). The bad thing is they chop like hell and once they do, they are noisy suckers on the street. Be prepared to rotate frequently. I've about had it with mine and am looking at going back to Nittos (might try the new Trail Grappler).

Great list BTW!

I think I will have to move up to a 18" rim due to a HD steering upgrade. I have decided that your suggestion is really my best option. Although the Iroks will not last as long as other tires they fit my needs best. Thanks again.

Turns out I wont be able to use the Thuren steering kit so I am back to using 17" rims.

great post, I personally am a huge fan of the nitto Mud grapplers, ran them in a 33 11.5r16 and loved them a bit loud but wore very well and were surprisingly a great 4 season tread, handled snow and ice surprisingly well for large lugs. ill be putting a set of the new bfg mud T/A's next

Just installed my Nitto Trail Grapplers 35 / 12.5 - 20 (which replaced my GY Wrangler MT/Rs (which are for sale here:http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=61814 )

Thanks to this thread for helping me in my decision!!!

Had them road force balanced since I've had a lot of shimmy in my truck. Wanted to rule out the wheels and tires as a culprit. Only drove home from the shop, but first impression is positive. Some road noise, but not terrible. Tracks straight and rides great! I did get a short ride on the highway and still have a little rear end shimmy at the same 67-72mph, so I don't think it's the tires... though the right rear wheel took a lot of weight... this same wheel took a lot of weight when I had the old tires balanced, so I might have a wheel issue... I'll swap the rears side to side to see how the shimmy feels, but I don't spend a lot of time on the highway, so it's not a big deal.

Other notes: This tire is more than an inch taller and 1.5 inches wider than my MT/Rs and I have no clearance issues. And they look MEAN! Downside... makes me want a bigger lift!
