Default Vacuum Leak?

Edit: This should be moved to the 5.9 Specific Topics in the 2nd Gen area. So if someone who can sees this, maybe they can do it for me... Sorry

Hey guys, its been a while since Ive posted anything, but I've been busy with school. Im proud to say Im doing the Chrysler Auto Tech program up here in MN at Dunwoody College. Anyway, back on track...

Lately, especially after a cold start, my truck makes a whistling noise. It goes away when the truck is warmed up. It will whistle when you get on the throttle just a little bit, and then just barely audible at idle when cold. I initially thought it was my PCV but turns out thats not it. I do have a Volant CAI on, so maybe since that doesnt have all the baffling it could be that.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks guys

This takes 2 people.

1. Person holds the throttle up around 1000 rpm.
2. Second person takes a can of wd-40 and gently sprays each vacuum line and around the base of the throttle body and intake.

You'll know if you have a leak and where it is.

Sometimes a aftermarket cai will allow you to hear the air whistling pass the throttle plate . If you can't find a vacuum leak , I wouldn't be too concerned .

Thats what I figured, Tom. However, it does start to kind of whistle at very low throttle just when the AC or fan is turned on. Arent these vacuum controlled?

I think only the vents are controlled by vacuum.
