Default 97 2500 2 whl 5 spd cummins

tranny locked in 5th gear, took top off, no problem with shifter? tried to pry gear no luck. solution?

Cool Likely a Nut Jam

Hi - If the trans is stock, then a common problem was the nut holding 5th gear on coming loose / dropping in the trans.

Likely you need to drop the trans, make sure you have a jack as the nV4500 is a heavy beast...

You should be able to retrieve the nut, you may have to disassemble the trans to do so. Thinks broomsticks for dummy shafts.

A Jasper rebuild will run ~ 2500
