Default Auto 4x4 owners, show me your lift setup!

OK, so I wanted to get the 2" leveling kit but want to avoid the death wobble that is present with the auto 4x4 option.

So I would like to see some other options that new Laramie or auto 4x4 owners are using and your experience with the setup.

Not looking for a huge lift but wouldn't mind running 35" tires.

Pics and/or videos are a must.

I dont think you are talking about Death Wobble with the auto 4x4. What it is is a vibration. When you do a 2" level you are bringing the CV shafts at a high angle and it causes the truck to vibrate. Now this is NOT death wobble, there is a big difference. Since it is auto 4x4 you have no control over when it engages thus causing a vibration. In a plane 4x4 truck you can keep it in 2wd and you wont feel the vibration. If you dont want this to happen you will have to drop the front diff to correct the angles of the CV shafts.

The other way to correct it is go with a lift kit instead haha

Thanks for input Scat my man, look forward to more of your input at our meet and greet/cruise.

What is the smallest lift I can get then that will eliminate the vibration or stop it from happening?

Great looking truck man, love the rims and rubber as well.

Do you have the auto 4x4 option on your truck? Does your lift eliminate the vibration?

Thanks bro appreciate it .

Naw I didn't get the auto 4x4, didn't really want it.
I have put mine in 4x4 and I don't get any vibration at all.
I put the lift on after I had about 100 miles on the truck and never put it in 4x4 before the lift.So if it vibrated before the lift in 4x4 I couldn't tell ya.

08 with the 2Wd/Auto/4Hi/4Lo sytem.

1.5" Truxxx Kit, Factory 20" Wheels and 295/65/20 Nitto Mud Grapplers.

That was prior to Biltstein HDs up front and Spring Assist Monroes on the back (thus having an extra incho or two in the back). From ground to floor is 27" and from the lower bumper step to the ground is 28".

Thanks for the great info. Where did you get the Truxxx kit? Roughly how much did it run you?

I'm actually pretty fortunate we have a GREAT local off-road place called Cabot Tire and Off-Road. I got the Truxxx kit and the tires from them, not at the same time though. The Truxxx Kit was right around $200. It's all aluminum made in the USA and come with all the hardware. I thought it was well worth it.

My evil master plan for the front suspension is to get some stiffer front coil springs so the suspension is a little stiffer and the motor weight doesn't pull down the nose as much. Where to get those springs though...I don't know yet. The spacers are 1.5" the CVs seem at a pretty steep angle with the big tires and spacers so I think I've got to rule out a 2" spacer.

Also I'll get another perceived inch up front when I re-drill my tow shackle bar because that will raise up the bumper assembly a full inch.
