I think it's your tune.

Typically, this is how I've seen a basic tuning session go:

1. easy baseline run just to make sure your aren't running lean and to check a/f.
2. add a couple of degrees of timing and make another run double checking a/f and adding fuel as necessary.
3. you repeat step 2 UNTIL you see a decrease in power then go back to your last setting.

Obviously, you can only add so much timing depending on your octane and whether or not you are running a meth/water setup. If it was a high hp setup then you would also monitor injector duty cycle and fuel pump duty cycle none of which you should be worried about at this point.

These trucks also have knock sensors and the computer would send that data to the dyno. It would be displayed as a dip in the hp/Q curves from timing being pulled.

It does look like a good run, a nice flat curve, but I'm surprised he pulled timing instead of advancing it to improve the tune. I'd like to hear the guy's reasoning for pulling the timing, so keep us in the loop.

Yah, a higher altitude and heat would definitely account for some loss.
Here in Denver, 5,400 ft, it can be almost 20% loss in power.

Yeah i talked to him today and it was hitting the knock sensors also i have the log data if you guys want it i cant tel what any of it is cause it in notepad format so just let me know if you want it or not. I think it would be a great idea to get a Dyno Section on the forum what do you guys think?
