Default Resizing wheels 2010 TRX4

Love my new truck don't get me wrong. Those factory 17" wheels are pretty but in my opinion, should have been 18 or 20". They look too small for the chassis. Does anyone else agree?

Is it a compatible swap to simply put on 20" wheels? Will there be any issues doing this?

Yup! As long as you get the correct tire pressure sensors everything will be A-ok.

I noticed the new 2011 Rams are fitted with P275-60R20 tires. Now, will my 2010 TRX4 sit higher with 20" wheels vs 17" or will it be about the same?

That would depend on you. You can get 20's with a tire combo that will give you the same height as you have now or you can adjust your height a little up or down depending on the tire you choose.

The TRX4 is the off-road addition. Smaller wheels with bigger tires are better for off-road. 15" is the most popular size but 17" is the smallest that will clear the big calipers needed to stop these big 'ol trucks. I'd just get bigger tires!

Oh, and to answer the original question. The height is based on the diameter of the tire not the size of the wheel. A 33" tire on a 20" rim is still just 33" tall, same as a 33" tire on a 17" rim.

and tire height is determined by sidewall measurement, i.e., 40, 50, 55, 60, 65, etc...so a 75 series tire will be taller than a 60 and the overall tire/wheel combo height will be taller as well.
