Default 2001 Dodge ram 1500 Transmission won't shift

Hello everyone. After a month ago I was driving my truck and came to a stop sign. When I pulled off from the stop my truck wouldn't shift up through the gears. I stopped and put it in park for a few then took off again and it shift through the gears. Before I got home it did it again and wouldnt shift. 6mos ago my governor pressure solenoid went bad and that was replaced. I have no idea what is wrong with my trans now and I dont want to drive it and get stuck somewhere or make the problem worse. My truck has 132k miles on it. Not sure if I need a rebuild etc. I appreciate any info/help that anyone has to offer. Thanks

my dodge had this problem. may be a speed sensor in the tranny. we had a guy here in town put a new sensor in it as well as tighten all the bands. shifts like new. its a 99, with 160K on it though, i'd imagine you've got the same problem.

I'm curious how you can exclude other potential problems and conclude that it's a speed sensor without performing any diagnostics.
