Default Factory Molded Mud Flaps

Hmmmmm
Anyone ever check to see what kind of condition your paint/finish is in under your molded mud flaps?
Mine wore right down through the paint and its only 4 months old
Guess they are on to stay (unless I put some offroad wheel flares on it!) to hide the mess

Yup, we paid BIG money for them and look what it did to our vehicles.
Automotive engineers should be shot for that stupid ass design.
Chevrolet has had this same problem too, on their trucks.

Those very same mud flaps ruined my brand new R/T hemi charger,
AND both of my 2010 hemi trucks...i`ll never buy another set without putting the clear protective tape over the paint when installing these shit mudflaps

I purchased aftermarket 'Husky' flaps,,, They come with a clear 'paint protector' strip that goes on before the flap...

The stuff that came with my flaps was a pre-cut clear film,,,, it's the same 'general stuff' as the 3M film used for paint protection on hoods and the fronts of cars. I don't know if anyone sells 'just' a precut kit for the wheel area,

Just get some of the 3M clear bra material. Most tint shops have it as they do that work too. Get some good sized scraps (they will probably give them to ya), trim to fit. You might want to coat or prime the area first if you see bare metal so that rust doesn't start there.

I had the same issue with the molded flaps rubbing my truck raw, the dealer installed them so when I noticed the rub marks I took it in and they repainted and put the flat style flaps on for me....
