I have a 1989 Dodge Ram W-250 with the 5.9L V-8.
It was running fine until a couple weeks ago when it just cut out.
I have found the reason is electrical related as the plugs aren't getting any fire. I checked the distributor but it's not getting any power either. I then replaced the ignition coil but then discovered it wasn't getting power as well.
I just don't know where to look next. Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated.
hello and welcome, i hope some one can help you, i cant being that i tend to set cars on fire when trying to repair electrical
"Yup...Speed Kills.....mileage that is. "--brad12kx
"lol.... yeah, thats the answer! Just get under the dash and cut some wires! Im sure it will be fine!" --gregster
I dont always drink and drive, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis. stay thirsty my friends
about the only advice i can give would be to just look around the engine compartment for any connectors that may have come undone. Then I would check all the fuses, primarily the ones under the hood, not just under the dash. Does it even attempt to turn over? Is there any power to anything else such as lights, horn, radio, etc?
