Default '09 trailer brake controller

I'd like to instal the factory trailer brake controller like the 2010's have into my 2009 ram... I know aftermarket controllers will work but i really would prefer a "factory" appearing unit if possible.

other posts suggest this is not just plug 'n play.... does anybody have experience with this?

In theory, it should work but you will need to do some harness splicing. See my comments at http://www.ramforumz.com/showpost.ph...3&postcount=37. Also, the entire discussion of this thread is good to review.

Thanks Ken...

I found your post in another thread but didn't read through to the bottom where you comment on the '09 fitment. I'll be trying it tonight on my '09 and I'll post results.

BTW, my local Dodge dealer claims there is no female plug matching the 4-pin blue trailer-brake plug on the firewall of the '09...so i went down to the local Princess Auto hardware store and bought one for $14.99 CAD... Hopkins #47755

thanks again for the excellent info!
