Angry 2011 RAM 1500 integrated brake controller

Had my 2011 for about 3-4 weeks now and last week I took
a trip towing my 3500 lb trailer. The controller worked fine. Got to
my destination and parked the truck/trailer, leaving it connected.
A week goes by and when I went to get in the truck I noticed NO dome light on, put the key in the ignition and the battery is stone cold DEAD.
My question is with the trailer connected will it still draw from the battery?
If so this would explain the dead battery, but never had this happen with
any other truck or controller. Anyone have any experience with this?

Personally I would say no, I've had mine connected that long, and idle, and never had a problem.

Seems to me the only way there would be a drain through the connection is if something on the trailer was drawing current.

I thought that there is a system on our trucks that saves enough battery to start it.

Hello I have been in the RV service business since wooden spoked wheels ( feels like it ) The draw from the trailer battery could be, Lp leak detector, refridgerator brain, Radio memory, Thermostat off swith not set to off and temp drops at night and furnance runs. The trailer plug has a 12vt power wire constsntly connected. When plugged together what draws from the trailer battery also draws from the truck battery. Problems isn't the truck but whats on in the trailer. Try looking there first. JC
