Default 1 degree colder?

Would it be ok to run the NGK spark plugs in my truck that are one degree colder? I'm not very familiar with this. I just saw a member before that had the 2 degree colder plugs and some members were saying he needed to get it dyno tuned.

Why not just go with what the manufacturer recommends? The only time the fancy plugs come in handy is when building a racing motor with racing ignition and so on.

I have the NGK iridiums that are 2 degrees colder. You can go on NGK's site and it explains the difference. But basically the difference is each degree colder is for 100 hp. So lets say you have done 100hp worth of mods go with the 1 degree colder plugs and so forth. I didnt know this when i bought mine but i havent noticed anything running bad. I plan on doing some forced induction cam and heads in the future so i just got the 2 degrees colder ones.

youd run a colder plug if you were going to run a nitrous kit......a colder plug in general will have more problems because it doesnt get hot enough to clean and can foul faster.........

Ok i'll probably just go with the OEM plugs then. I still have another 10k miles before they need changed.
