Hello All. I have an 2011 Ram with two of the large style plugs under the dash, No small plug. Both are the exact same size and have the exact some color wires going to them , One just has the two wires in different positions. Anyone try this mod with a 2011? Thanks.

I suspect you only have the large plug brake controller harness and you are looking at opposite ends of the same cable. The large plug cable is wrapped up with the main wire harness so it is hard to trace without removing all the tape. The large plug cable plugs into a socket next to the main harness junction where the harness passes through the firewall. The same style plug is used on both ends. I've supplied pictures of the cable where it plugs into the main harness. I would use a volt meter to confirm this.

Unplugged at the junction.

Plugged.

Kenn99, You nailed it, i went back and looked and you were spot on. So does this mean i need to do the I plug mod with the wire taps?

If the pigtail with the small connector is missing, then yes, if you really want to use the factory ITBM controller. Some have said the second connector is hard to spot. I would remove the dash components first (as describe by Netman66 at the beginning of this thread) and inspect the harness closely.

This is great info... thanks all.

As I posted in my original thread about an aftermarket TBC, my local Dodge (Naples, FL) does not have the "AG" version of the Ram ITBC in stock, but can get it for me in a few days for $229!!!! Kills me to see others here getting it for $142... Where did that poster get it for $142? I'd happliy pay for shipping.

I'm already going to guess that Naples Dodge is going to have NO IDEA how to flash my truck after I install the Dodge ITBC... but they said they'd try for $90... guess Naples is an expensive place to live! Since I just bought it last weekend, I'll try what others here did: remind them that I just bought a hugely expensive truck from them...

Incinr8: I also have a 2011 Ram 1500 (4x4 Big Horn)... after your 11/14/10 post I just ran out to my truck and looked under the dash. It seems that I have both the connectors, a bigger one and a smaller one with an orange insert.

UPDATE: The current part number according to "Galeana Chrysler Dodge Jeep" in Ft. Myers, FL for the IBTC is 56029431AG (currently FL has 32 in stock in Orlando), and the grey bezel is 1EB13XDVAA. The IBTC was $142, the bezel was $9.45... and thier driver is going to deliver it to me... can't beat that!

Before the flash you are going to have to make sure that they add the code through dealer connect. Just flashing it will do nothing for you if the code isnt present.

I thought I saw somewhere in this thread what the code was to add, cant' find it anymore for some reason (I'm sure I'm missing it). Therefore,
  1. Does anyone remember what the correct code to flash is? and
  2. Does anyone know if it will work on the 2011 Ram?
Thanks again!
