You might want to read the owners manual on page 482 "Required Maintenance Intervals" because just like Randy said, you MUST change spark plugs out at 30K miles. But I guess if you are going to do all your own maintenance, then you probably don't have to worry too much about "MUST" until something goes wrong.

Well I'm about to reach the wonderful 50,000 mile mark early next week. I bought the truck with 34k in April of last year. Only thing that has been done to it is oil changes (and my CAI upgrade) since I've had it. I was thinking of changing the plugs, maybe upgrading the wires and distributer cap. I'll contact a local tranny dealer for differential fluid change prices. Anything else I should look into? Maybe radiator flush? I figure 50k and she's just getting broken in, at least that was the case with my last pickup LONG time ago.

First off, thanks Randy for having your glove out to catch this 'fly Ball', and my apologizes to everyone for a misleading post. I was referring to km, not miles, but definitely posted it as miles. I have to keep reminding myself that those of us with metric speedo/odo's, are in the minority here, and I MUST be more careful when making a claim that can be largely affected by the difference in the 2 measurement systems.

Based on person experience, my 04 Ram 2500 Hemi, I pulled the plugs at 20K, and put them right back in. They looked like plugs with 1K on them. Checked them again at 40K...good to go. Then at 60K, even though they weren't real bad, the electrodes were just starting to show their age, so I replaced them. (Note - 60K km = 36K mi) I didn't notice any change, performance or mileage, but based on the 30K mi recommendation, I likely wouldn't...it just ensured that it would continue to run properly.

Now if I could just get my time machine back on line and change just 2 letters...mi for km...then say to Hemi, "Yup, at 38,000mi you SHOULD change the plugs".

Again, Thanks Randy for great field play!

when ever you do any work on your vehicle at any place other than the dealership, be sure to document it, like with an oil change, keep the sales ticket of the purchase, then write down the mileage & date that you or someone else did the service. If at a later time there is a warranty issue, you have the paper work to defend yourself

I agree--for 1k they are fix'n to tune you up--not your truck!! Most of that stuff you can do yourself or find a friend that can help you. If you can't I'd shop around a little.
