Default EGR?

Does a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 have an EGR valve?

Ive read it does and it doesn't have one. Hoping someone knows for sure, thanks for all the help guys.

it shouldn't have one.... butttt if it does it will be located behind the intake just above the bellhousing... you could always call the dealership and speak to a service tech and they can tell you... they are surprisingly helpful with you call haha

its legally required to have an egr or some equivalent system (to get off the dealer's lot at least). It has an obd2 emissions control system. Dodge has actually been using EGR for decades /my '74 has one but its been bypassed ; ) / Look at the rear passenger side of the intake manifold below where the cowl overhangs the engine That's where it is on my '94, you will have either that or some sort of active exhaust recirculating system.

It may if it was an early 96, or it was eliminated from production by the latter part of the year. After that point none of the V8's had an EGR (thank goodness). My 97 for example does NOT have one.
