I'm just glad the computers in the trucks are smarter than their owners!

Ok for those out there that like there MDS and STOCK Dodge, then you would have no complaints. But as for us "MEN" that want to modify our trucks especially with its exhaust, the MDS is a NIGHTMARE!....That HORRIBLE drone that comes from the after market exhaust is enough to drive a man to drinking. Besides there have been several studies concerning the actual mileage gains when using the MDS and to be honest, it simply isn't worth a HOOT to have on. I beg of all those real men out there...........YANK THAT MDS OUT!......( the real men is just a joke, please don't take offense )

May I ask, how does one gain mileage when they using there "O/D Off on the highway or the T/H Mode? It sends the engine to an average of atleast 700 rpm's higher. So can you explain to me this mileage gain? Oh and like "I" said if "I" had wanted mileage I would have not purchased a hemi, I would have bought a Chevy 5.3...

The need for viagra comes to mind. If you need speed get real get a Porsche, Ferrari, lotus, Lamborghini, Morgan, even a Bentley, etc. I love my Ram it has wonderful comfort, will go where I want to go, at any speed that is warranted, carry and tow what I need, the only problem is long ladders fitting racks is a problem with a cover and the Ram boxes which are used all the time.

If you are a "real" man and are experiencing the MDS then I guess you aren't driving it like a "real" man b/c MDS only works in the 1000-3000 rpm range at low required torq requirements.

I only use tow/haul mode when I wantrpm's higher in town for scooting around real quick. If I am on the Highway I only use it if I am pulling my boat. Like I said before I have run with MDS and with MDS completely shut off and I get at least 3 mpg's better on the highway. If you are driving only in town, the by all means turn it off! I have done extensive exhaust work and the drone does not bother me a single bit. As far as mileage goes, I bought my Ram for the better mileage plus a whole lot more performance over my previous truck. My F350 4 door Dually with the 460 big block got about 8 mpg in town and the best ever of 12 mpg on the highway with no load and sails up! So my 20+ mpg on the highway with MDS on is deffinately worth it! Real men understand that all you have to do to disable MDS is press the damn peddle to the floor! If you bought it cause it's a Hemi then press that fun peddle and let the engine do the rest! ....Oh and my wife's Tahoe has the 5.3 in it and I get better mileage on the highway than she does!
