I just talked with Arrington today regarding this combo (ported heads, cam, 85mm throttle body, and a Predator). They said you can expect an easy 50-70hp increase at the rear wheels. And for almost half the price of forced induction. Slap on a better breathing exhaust and air intake, and he possibilities could be a bit more.

you do both. buy the DSP, get it dyno'd and have the tuner load the tune on your turck via the DSP. the DSP will also save your stock tune if you want to save it (b/c it can hold 3 tunes). another benefit is you can have the tuner build you more than one tune in case you want an everyday and/or a track only tune.

you can read/clear DTCs, change your tire size, rev limiter, shift points etc with your DSP.


edit: you are right that you can just get your PCM reflashed by the tuner w/o buying a programmer.

don't forget to add a higher stall trq converter to go with the massive cam. the comp cams 273 advertisies 61 hp increase ABOVE 4500 rpm and its operating range is 2000-6200 rpm.

I Was Debating Whether To Supercharge Or Turbo Charge My 2010 Dodge Ram Too!!! I Talked To The Folks At Shophemi.com and The Said That The ProCharge Model They Offer Fits The 2009 And 2010 Dodge Ram!!!! Also Kenne Bell Is Developing Something For The 5.7 And Should Release Sometime Next Year!!!! Personally I Decided To Go With A Custom Fabricated Turbo Kit, My Best Friend Owns A Fabricating Shop And Was Kind Enough To Sponsor My Truck And Do The Labor At No Cost!!!! I Also Plan On Port And Polishing The Head And Dropping A Cam!!! I Think With Those Add-ons And The Stuff I Already Have Done To My Truck It Should Run Good!!!
