the cracked dashes are notorius... I bought one locally for a steal luckily for $50... Took me about a day to removed everything since I was painting it... It's a easy replace but now this one has cracked again, not as bad as my old one so I'm thinking about fixing the crack with glue, and fiberglasing it just for the show apperance and it will probably be sturdier.. I personally have not used the dash cover.. I just replaced the dash itself, ive done it on a buddies truck as well... Im hoping LMC Will have the actual dash someday for a decent price

did you have to bring down the steering column, disconnect electrical plugs and
pivot down then remove whole dashboard assembly? i am trying to replace mine without having to do all the above, is it possible? can you detail the steps/shortcuts you took to get it under an hour? thanks.

Looks as if http://www.dashcoversplus.com/ is making a replacement dash now. Total cost is about $420 after shipping, but has a life time warranty. The cover they show on the installation video looks really good after installation.

A little late, but I bought a "dash carpet" from JCWhitney, for $35 in black. My dash has more cracks then the Bonniville salt flats in the summer........ I skipped the monogram and emblem, and just got the simple, plain black cover.

I read on another post that when you get your new dash replaced...DO NOT tighten the dash down completely. That little bit of room gives the dash enough to contract and expand with weather conditions.

I had to replace mine about a year ago and I got an abs plastic replacement from a company called plastic parts. It was easy to change out and it looks like new. I love it. I still dont understand why Dodge doesnt replace them though...
