Default Just installed new fuel filler neck, now gas cap wont tighten all the way?

Never had this happen to me before. I just bought and installed a Dorman fuel filler neck in my truck since the original had just rotted enough to start to leak when filling up. Problem is, now the fuel cap goes in about halfway and then locks/clicks as if it's tight. Tried the locking gas cap that I have on one of my other trucks and same problem occurs, so it isn't the cap. I can't see anything at the top of the filler neck that looks out of the ordinary, has anyone run into this same problem ?

Surprisingly it didn't throw any codes because of it (had a durango throw an evap code from a bad gas cap) so I guess it'll be ok for now, but it's bugging me that I can't tighten it all the way.

I'd get in touch with Dorman or wherever you got the filler neck and see what kind of cap you need that works with it. Sounds like a stock cap won't work.

Hmm. Emailed Dorman with the issue and I guess we'll see if I get anything back. Thanks for the idea

Try a different cap from another vehicle.. then email them back "I did, but didnt help. Also, I now want reimbursement for a purchased cap that doesn't work either. Anymore Bright ideas, Champ?"
