Default Cold air intake? Really

I have been researching CAIs for my truck and have really only found 1 true cold air intake. Varam. Problem is they dont make it for the 2010 yet.

It appears the stock breather is more of a true cold air intake then Volant, K&N, AEM and the like.

Does anyone make a scoop that could adapt to the current breather replacing the tube that goes to the wheel well. Just think if someone made a snorkel adapter that utilized the opening in the front bumper. It would be similar to the ram air system from varam. But cost much less.

Any ideas? Does anyone already do this?

Thanks

The big advantage over the CAIs should be the size of the filter. It allows it to flow more air into the intake compared to the stock drop-in filter. I would stay away from the vararam, they are not built very well and have serious durability issues (if/when they have one for the '10s). If you're looking for a cold air intake then look for a sealed unit that draws from the side of the rad or from the front fender. Look at S&B, they have a good sealed unit.

If you want some true cold air, then you'd have to look at a ram air setup, drawing in thorugh a hood.

Does S&B make one for a 2010? Thanks for the insight on the vararam.

i have a 2010 Ram/sport with a Mopar Cold Air kit on it. Had the dealer install it so i can't figure why your guy doesn't offer it at least... it's WAY MORE $$$$$$ than all the others and i would say other than it looks good and has a huge air filter ,you can do much better "bang for the buck" with K&N type at half the price
