things that really make a difference, while towing
rear differential ratio, 3.92 & 4.11s are better than the 3.21 or 3.55s
for some unknown to me reason, a 17 inch wheel tows more than a 20 inch wheel, must have something also to do with a differential ratio

also 8 foot bed tows more than a 6.5 inch bed, in other words, wheel base lengths
engine size also makes a difference

Well for you guys that don't know what type of rear diff ratio you got, here's a link you can use to get your build sheet e-mailed to you from Chrysler:

And this works for all for their vehicles. I found out that I got 3.55 ratio and according to the bodybuilder site I can tow a max of 8,900lbs which is perfect for me since it's only going to be towing my SRT8 once in a while.

My truck has 3:55 and tows our 6000 lbs travel trailer perfectly, no problems. Way better then my 04 Ram that had a 4.7L and 3:92.

I have had many Dodge tow vehicles and by far the best for just towing was my 2002 diesel HO 6 speed...but it was way to much of a vehicle to do anything else with..and it rode..well like a truck. I had a 2003 with a Hemi and it towed great, no real problems. I now have a 2010 with 392 gears and it tows the same 6,000lb trailer just fine. This is by far the best all around vehicle of them all. Rides great, tows fine, and is the best 4x4 in the snow I have ever had. Dodge did a great job with these trucks. If you get the chance to get a good deal on the diesel, then by all means grab it, but diesels are more to maintain than a gas vehicle...and they don't do fast food drive thrus at all!!! Trust me!

Great find.
