Question Another steering problem.

I just replaced the steering box on my '92 2500. All was working good for about two week but now it's pushing fluid out of the cap. What would cause that?

Was it a new pump or used?
Did you prime it properly and bleed it before using?
Did you over fill it?
If new, you primed and bleed it and it wasn't overfilled I would think its the pump again. Check all you lines and make sure return isn't pinched or crushed.
If you didn't prime it or bleed it then you fried the pump.

Default Another steering problem.

I didn't change the pump just the box and new lines. I did prime and bleed it. Like I said, used it for two weeks and it worked perfect. I'm thinking the pump took a crap. Just wanted to get another opinion.

Try bleeding it again...just back and forth to steering lock both ways a few times, check fluid level, add as needed, back and forth again, repeat...

But you may be right...if it's blowing fluid up through the cap and it was bled, sounds like the pump is not sending fluid to both sides of the valve body and it's over pressuring.
