Default Need quick help

Hello

I am looking at a 2011 Laramie 4 x 4 and have another axle ratio question. The truck that they have found for me has 3.92 ratios instead of 3.55. I will not be towing anything heavy and will be using the truck for my business on the highway. If the 3.92 is the only turck they can get me will I notice a big impact on fuel economy?

I'd try to get one with 3.55's, 3.92's ain't that good for MPG (especially if you're not towing)

keep the 3.92 because you have the 4X4

you won't really notice the MPG difference between the 3.55 & the 3.92, i would guess at maybe 2 gallons on a 100 mile trip, IF that

I have the 5.7L 3.55 ratio, 32 gallon gas tank, & 97% of my driving is highway, any driving at over 65 MPH makes the needle drop quicker. the MDS is a good thing at 1800 RPM

I have the 3.92's but I have yet to tow anything. She is only a month old...going easy on her! Gas is not the best, but that's coming from a previous Cummins owner and diesel does so much better on fuel.

I say get the 3.92 since you have the 4X4, Gas will be a few MPG off, but you never know where life might take you and it might be better to have than not have. I like mine. Actually if you baby it and use cruise control its not that bad.

I have the 3.92s in my 4x4. At 65mph on level hiway in warm weather I get 19 - 20mpg.

I doubt you would benefit from the 3.55s but you would lose the limited slip and also lose pulling and off the line power when you need it.

I agree , get the better gears if you think you'll need them later on you won't be sorry then . If your city driving you probably won't notice the fuel mileage anyway.
