The new 6.2L is just a big version of the new 5.0L. Both are dual overhead cam, and make big power and spin way faster than any other pushrod V8 on the market.

Basically, if you want to go FAST offroad, you buy a raptor, think pre-runner here.

If you want slow ass rockcrawling, you get the Powerwagon, however, the powerwagon's realy should have cummins powerplants.

Just saw a black on black Raptor with the 6.2L motor. That thing was really nice! It's the only Ford truck that could possibly get me out of my Ram.

Yup, and with a $60K price tag, I could get a '11 Sport, mod the hell outta it, and still have money for the gas. It's alright though, I get outta my ram and into my SuperDuty all the time.

It's ok boss, if they want to leave, by all means. Some people just aren't "worthy" to own a Ram anyways.

holy crap $60k. Are they marking them up in Canada? I haven't seen any higher than the $45k-50k range.

This was 44K. And frankly, you couldn't get me to pay 44K for any vehicle. Not even a Ram.

Everything in Canada is marked up, a few years ago when the Canadian dollar was on par and even exceeding the US dollar the price of a new vehicle could be anywhere from 5-15k more in Canada. A lot of people started running down south of the border to buy their vehicles because even after your done changing the speedometer over, installing day time running lights etc. and jumping through the bureaucratic hoops it was far cheaper than than buying local. Then dealerships started complaining that everyone wasn't shopping local and claiming they couldn't honor warranty work because the vehicles were bought in the US etc. The Raptor according to ford.ca *starts* at 53,199. So before you've even started you have nearly 60k truck by the time your done with taxes and such. Welcome to Canada

That is why some manufacters void their warranty if the vehicle is exported. Honda does this for example.

For more on the Raptor, there is a pick-up truck of the year article in the March 2011 4Wheeler (The Rap won - it was up against the '11 F250 and Chevy 2500 HD). I would still go with the PW for an offroad machine but the Rap has some cool features. It is, however, a gas guzzler for sure.

plain and simple, Dodge doesn't make anything that can compete with a Raptor in the desert where it was designed to shine. Ford doesn't make anything that can compete with Dodge in the work truck market where it was designed to perform. although the new '11 desiel in the F-350 is pretty sick. they are just different designs that have nothing to do with each other. stop comparing a desert capable truck with a solid axle truck. it's like comparing the terrible herbst desert trohpy truck with a military truck. obviousely the trophy truck is faster in the desert but can't carry a sheet of plywood.
