Loosened up the screws and fiddled around with it a bit and it made no change in RMP.

When I start her up the idle jumps up to 1600ish and floats back down to 1050-1100ish.
Cold or warmed up she now idles at 1050-1100ish.

It acts like the TB return spring is un hooked because of the way the idle floats down. but its on and has good snap back.

I have the same floating idel problem pre mod. I am sure that its caused by gunk or the Throttle Possition Sensor, if the truck has one. I will post what I find tomorrow afternoone, post mod.

I had cleaned mine all out and made it pretty, but no joy.

Rechecked all the vacuum lines, WOW guess what I found...
Some jack a$$ packed a line full of activated carbon...
My guess is t get it to pass smog.
Cleaned all the crap out of the lines, but no joy.

So I installed a tach a few days ago and then turned down the base idle screw about a full turn until my idle sat at 650-700 ish (while the engine was warmed up). Now all is fine.

Thats good to hear. I had a similar issue, ended up being a cracked vac line that ran off the tb.
