Default Electric Cutouts

would be it a bad idea to run electric cutouts before my cat one on each down pipe, could it burn up the valve's? i'd only use it for racing because i heard at WOT the computer bypasses your cat...

When you open them you'd run into O2 sensor issues.

If it bypassed the cat at WOT then there would be no need for cutouts, and how would the exhaust gases get around the cat anyway. With the lack of horse power in yours and my trucks, cutouts would not do you much good, you need the backpressure from your exhaust to create low end torque and horsepower. If you really want to run cutouts, just for the cool factor, then install them after the cat but before the muffler. Once you are done make a video of it so that we can all here it.....lol. Maybe I will do the same thing.

yes placing before the cat will only cause 02 sensor codes to be thrown. are you looking to do cutouts for the sound or performance factor? like said, before cat means little backpressure. so if it is just for sounds, why not get a nice muffler (flowmaster, magnaflow, cherry bomb, mufflex) or straight pipe, and gut your cat? if you gut the cat get a CEL delete kit

Yea at WOT it would be hard to bypass the cat if there is no where else to go. I have to agree with the other guys above.

I have mine in the middle of the truck after cat and before the muffler. I use it just for the sound. It does make a bit of a difference performance wise. I do notice that the truck is a bit peppier when the cutout is open

On my Jeep I used them with no cat's.I also had to have my rear o'2s turned off to prevent codes with the gutted cats.
