Default how do you pre load the rear end on my truck

I replaced the the rear pinion seal on my 2001 dodge ram the other weekend when i took the everything loose the nut on the pinion yoke was so loose that I could turn the nut with my fingers. I need to know how to preload the rear end im lost please help.

I could be wrong but thought there was "crush washers/sleeves" that properly set the pre-load
