Yeah -
http://www.pulstar.com/

Apparently, they have a capacitor contained and cause a larger spark. Larger sparks are why super coils are always a good idea....but its hard to warrant the price at $9/per

I figure if you get a 4mpg bump(per their website), they would pay for themselves in 2-3 fill-ups. But that's a BIG IF! I'd definitely do it for half the mileage gain, but I'd want to hear from someone who actually got that kind of gain. They always say "up to", so kinda hard to tell if it's snake oil.

Interesting. Might be something worth checking into.

I installed a set of the pulstar iridiums in my wifes car as a test, and it actually really woke it up. Now, that's a 4-cyl mitsubishi with 115K on the clock, but it drives like its new again. The plugs were part of a major overhaul I did when I got back from deployment, but the plugs were essentially the first thing I did, and I noticed a significant increase in getup in that little car. Also, about 40K miles ago that car got about 29 mpg religiously. Lately, it had gone to about 23, hence the overhaul. With the pulstars in, back up to 28.9 mpg. So, yes the mpg didn't reach its formerly high level as noted inthe test at the link above, but it's better than 23, and it feels more awake than I can ever remember. Not bad for 115K.
Anyway, I got a deal on some more pulstar iridiums for the ram, and am installing them tonight./tomorrow since the old coppers haven't been changed in 40K (been gone a lot the past few years...). I'll let you know how they are. If they're gimmicky, then I'll be plenty annoyed at having spent the money, but hopefully they will at least live up to their 100K mile claim (iridium is supposed to be the hardest metal available for an electrode.)
