Been cold and Ive been working on her too.... Did the water pump last week and last night the front cv shaft nut backed off. Had some damage from it too. seal on the front axle is leaking so Im going to have to pull the whole shaft and replace the seal. Also the cv shaft itself .. the boot split. who ever replaced them either have the wrong shafts or didnt put the c clips on the end of the axle. they are kind of floating there. which is why the nut prolly backed off.
The water pump wasnt much fun either... for starters did the bypass hose... $5 part and what a pain. Have to remove everything off the front of the block to get to the other end, damaged the ac lines doing so... will fix in spring(could hear it leaking at the canister, was rusted pretty bad anyways) Also couldnt get the fan clutch assembly off the old pump. Heated and everything but no luck. The pump itself wasnt bad at all. Also did new hoses up and down.
So I went and did a electric fan conversion... was planning on doing one come spring so kinda made me do one now. problem is I had planned on ordering on online (best bang for my buck) but I got one from autozone and a thermo switch. So far so good with that set up.. only put me back 130 for the fan and switch. Will wait till summer to give a full review. Its been 30 to 0 degrees out here past few weeks.
Will be dong the seals this weekend will let you knw how it goes!
